US Coins to Look For

Currency

US Currency

Currency in the United States has been through many phases. Some of the most beautiful paper money ever made was made right here in America. The talent needed to produce such works of art is something to be admired. We proudly maintain a wide variety of certified and raw US paper money in large and small size, from the Educational series of 1896 to the *Star* Notes of the current issues. Many pieces are available at our E-Store.

Foreign Currency

If you ever wanted to see colorful paper money, look through our large selection of Foreign Paper money. We cover a wide range of years from current to 19th century issues. We also handle MPC (Military Payment Certificates) and Specimen Notes. Check out our Foreign Currency at our E-Store.

Broken Banknotes

In the early 1800's, bank failures were common. Such failed banks were called "broken" and their paper was called "broken bank" notes. Many of the banks that did not fold converted to national banks, which made their old paper money "obsolete," a name that stuck in describing such bank notes. The right for banks to print their own money was essentially removed with the National Currency legislation of 1863-65. See some of our inventory online at our E-Store.

Confederate States

Starting in 1861, the Confederate States produced their own paper money. Many of these notes were hand signed and were printed on very thin and light paper. These notes were often counterfeited but the originals portray a very important time in our country's history. See some of our stock of Confederate States Notes at our E-Store.
